After working as a professional dancer for four years at Strictly Come Dancing, AJ Pritchard announced March 26 that he left BBC One.
“I have news for you all. Please see my team statement below, which will send my love to everyone during this difficult time. Please keep yourself safe. AJ x, ”he wrote next to the announcement, next to the announcement.
Why did AJ decide to put on his dance shoes after all these years?
The professional dancer decided to give up her role in the show as she pursues her show dreams with her younger brother, former Love Island star Curtis Pritchard.
As he thanked the Stricly team, the 25-year-old explained in a statement written by his team: “After four years playing Strictly Come Dancing, AJ has decided it is the right time to leave the show and pursue his dreams of exploring opportunities in the show world.
“AJ would like to thank the Strictly team and all the BBC who gave him such a great opportunity.”
He added: “AJ wishes to send his love and thanks to all who have followed him and supported his career. He is glad that you can join him in the next chapter of the journey. “
AJ and Curtis are currently working on their tour, AJ Live 2020, which they recently had to postpone due to a coronavirus.
The brothers had to make four more appearances, but they have now been postponed until further notice.
AJ’s departure comes after four successful years for Stricly, who has seen a YouTube sensation with Saffron, Saturday’s singer Mollie King, and Paralympic Lauren Steadman.
In her first series in 2016, she reached the semifinals of actress Claudia Fragapane.
And AJ isn’t the only profit-maker to call it quits this year, after Kevin Clifton bowed in March, after seven years of broadcasting.
Sharing a series of photos over the years, Kevin wrote in his own time: “After finishing the last series with the goblet of children in need and Christmas theme, I want to leave high, so I decided it was time to move on and focus on other areas of my life and career. “
Ah, we’re sad to see them both go!
