Even though we’re still a bit far from Netflix’s four seasons of Stranger Things, fans around the world don’t stop speculating day and night on what may happen to Hawkins in Indiana (and now it looks like Russia).
We’ve put together (and tried to answer) many of the biggest questions, like when will the new season of Stranger Things begin, who’s likely to be involved … and most importantly, what might happen next to the main characters?
Here’s what you need to know about Season 4 of The Stranger Things (be careful with 1-3 season spoilers ahead)
Is Stranger Things Season 4 on Netflix?
Yes! Netflix announced in September 2019 that the show would be back for a fourth season. Watch the announcement video below, featuring a tease: “We’re no longer in Hawkins”. Where does the Four Seasons Gang Take? And will we come to Russia to find out what happened to the “American” or Hopper?

Later, on Valentine’s Day 2020, it was announced that season 4 production of the show is now officially underway.
“Season 4 is about to be the biggest and most scary season, and we can’t expect everyone to see more. In the meantime, pray for the American. From Russia with Love, ”wrote the Duffer Brothers, also posting a theater trailer (below) that confirms fan theory that David Harbor Chief Hopper had survived an apparent season three.
The Duffers brothers have previously talked about their plans for season 4. In an interview with Vulture in 2017, they suggested they end it after four seasons.
But producer Shawn Levy later said that the enthusiasm of Netflix and its child stars could persuade them to continue for another season after that.
“The truth is, we’re definitely going four seasons and there’s a big opportunity for a fifth,” Levy said. “Besides, I think it’s very unlikely.”
But as Stranger Things is one of the hottest features that Netflix has in its Originals arsenal and streaming wars are getting hot as Apple, Disney, HBO and NBC enter the on-demand market, it feels like they are looking for reasons to hang on to the show for as long as possible the armies of fans that accompany it.
Star Noah Schnapp (alias Will Byers) told Lorraine in February 2020 that she was sure that another series would be coming after the fourth.
“I don’t know if I can say, but based on what I think … because they haven’t really told me anything,” he said. “I don’t know what I can’t say. I’m sure there will be another one after that. I can’t imagine it’s the last one … It seems to me that we know if that was the case. I don’t want it to end! “
Is Hopper dead? Who is an “American”?

Hopper was killed at the end of the season when Upside Down’s entrance was closed, but headlines called “America” in Russian prison helped keep fans alive.
On February 14, 2020, Netflix fired a Season 4 trailer at Stranger Things prison camp in Russia, confirming after much speculation that Chief Hopper was alive.
Netflix has revealed: “He is a prisoner far from home in the snowy wasteland of Kamchatka, where he faces threats to people and others. Meanwhile, back in the states, a new horror is starting to surface, something long buried, something that unites everything…. “
How long he has been there and what happens next needs to be clarified. But now it seems that the mystery of whether Hopper is dead or alive seems to be solved.
What is the date of Stranger Things Season 4 on Netflix?
It may be a heavy tablet to swallow, but following Seasons 1, 2 and 3, it may be In late 2020 or early 2021 before we see Season 4 of Stranger Things on Netflix in the UK and around the world. So we’ll have to wait a long time to find out what’s next for sci-fi.
Season 2 came 15 months after Season 1 and Season 3 came 20 months after Season 2.
There was a reference to Byers and Wheels spending Christmas together in the 3 Finals of Stranger Things, and the previous two seasons have revolved around the holidays (Halloween and US Independence Day), so maybe December 2020 is our best hope, if that is their direction.
Who is elected Stranger Things Season 4?
There were some casualties in the final episode of Season 3. Billy (Dacre Montgomery) is definitely dead (or can anyone be sure Stranger Things is dead) and probably won’t be returning to the fourth round if he is part of a cameo, a la Sean Astin bob – or if they do some kind of reproduction?
We should expect most of the Season 4 main comebacks, including Millie Bobby Brown’s eleven, Finn Wolfhard’s Mike, Winona Ryder’s Joyce, Noah Schnap’s Will, Caleb Mclaughlin’s Lucas, Gaten Matarazzo Dustin, Natalia Dyer’s Nancy, Charlie Heaton Jonathan, Maya. Hawke’s Robin and Joe Keery (Steve).
Variety also announced that Priah Ferguson, who plays Lucas’ sister Erica (from the movie “You Can’t Get America Without Erica”), has been promoted to regular season 4 series.
And in March 2020, it was confirmed that Fleabag star Brett Gelman was also on top of the regular series. The actor plays eccentric private detective Murray Bauman, who helped get justice for Barbie in two episodes and was a Russian translator in the third series (RIP Alexey).
There are no official casting news yet, but we can surely expect new cast members and guests to be announced for Season 4 – including one notable Game of Thrones star who rises 0.28 seconds on the trailer. …

What Happens to the Alien Season 4 plot?
Stranger Things 3 left many questions ranging from what Chief Hopper is doing right now to exactly how the Russians held Demogorgon. For clarification, there are eleven issues that we will discuss in more detail here.
But in addition to tying the loose ends, stage four could open up new opportunities for the show: could Stranger Things 4, for example, be introduced to the rapidly aging young cast several years after its third season?
TVLine’s Michael Ausiello announced in February 2020 that Season 4 could consist of 9 episodes, more than originally planned. He also said he had heard that “a fan favorite may have a story of his origin in one (or more) of these nine episodes.”
It is not known who it might be, but there are many possibilities. We don’t know much about the newcomer Robin’s background, so he could be a good bet. Or maybe we’ll find out how a former journalist turned private detective Murray Bauman into a bunker, a vodka drink, and a Russian-speaking spell he is now.
There is also a strong likelihood that the story will move beyond one city, co-star Matt Duffer recently told EW that season four could see the storylines move to “areas outside Hawkins.”
Matts’ brother and co-fighter Stranger Things Ross Duffer added about the fourth show: “It feels quite different from this season.
“But I think that’s the right thing to do, and I think it’s exciting.”
So maybe in Season 4 we would see more Russia and Hawkins kids on the road elsewhere in America and the world. And, of course, as time goes on, they get older, so writers have to explain what happened in the intervening years before throwing us back into what is surely another mystery of epic proportions.
Are there trailers?
Other than Valentine’s Day host, the full-length trailer is yet to land. However, Netflix still released a video read on the table with attendees. It doesn’t give a story, but it’s nice to see the actors having fun while the rest of us eagerly await the news backwards.
