Oh, boy: Toyota launches machine learning, AI wants to understand and predict human behavior

Ie-Research Institute (TRI) has just launched an initiative aided learning (MAC), aimed at the development and demonstration of tools AI, which allow us to understand and predict human behavior with emphasis on decision-making.

TRI wants MAC was scaled, and believes that it is important to respect the principles of transparency and confidentiality in the collection and use of data – hopefully.

“The main basis for TRI charter – the study of the” next “for Toyota, and the MAC – another way, if the TRI can apply their skills in the field of AI, to help people work better,” – said the chief researcher TRI Eric Meek. “Our vision – to create a human amplification system for Toyota, where humans and machines work together synergistically to make better predictions, forecasts, and business solutions, and do it faster.”

MAC will manage the program’s senior director Francis Bell, which will include scientists from the behavior and will oversee the program accelerated the design and discovery of materials (AMDD). Bell previously worked at Uber head of the department of scientific data on the platform, where a working group to predict, detect anomalies and conversational interface.

Initially MAC team is stepping up checks and basic features. After a proof of concept will be developed, the group will explore specific opportunities that can “support the needs of users of Toyota in different parts of the organization.”

From the point of view of philosophical ideas, The TRI also hopes that the MAC will contribute to a deeper understanding of human behavior in the interests of our society. As long as it does not lead to Westworld, we are fine.
