Houston rapper Scarface said he tested positive for coronavirus in a live interview with longtime Geto Boys partner Willie D on Thursday.

The rapper, whose real name is Brad Jordan, described a multi-week ordeal that started with itchy throat and included several hospital stays, pneumonia in both lungs, kidney failure and fever up to 103 degrees. He also noted that, despite everything, he did not officially obtain his positive result in the COVID-19 test until Wednesday evening. “I was at the point where I felt like I was going to die,” he said.

Jordon said the breathing problems associated with the coronavirus were particularly brutal because he also had asthma. He said he could barely breathe and that he “felt like there was an elephant sitting on my chest”.

The rapper said he was not sure where he had caught the virus, noting that he had not traveled recently and lived a fairly sedentary life. To this end, he urged people to take the pandemic seriously, saying, “I don’t see how no one can even want to play these games, I don’t want to have so bad fun, where it could take me life.”

Jordon said that he was still quarantined at home, but that he believed he had finally been cured of the virus. With the end in sight after such an atrocious experience, he joked: “I’m damn finna live now man! Like skydiving and shit, I’m going to do that. We are going on a safari. “

Several musicians and other celebrities have been positive for the coronavirus in recent weeks. One of the first, and most notable, was Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson, while others include Idris Elba, Jackson Browne and Kevin Durant.
