Fallout 76 Wastelanders Update Has Been Delayed

The coronavirus is affecting people all around the world and entire industries are changing things up. From working at home to simply pushing things back until the health pandemic clears, there is no telling just what will come from this virus next. However, while we wait for the virus to clear and life goes back to normalcy, we’re having to endure certain delays and cancellations at least in terms of the video game industry. Now we’re finding out Fallout 76’s biggest update is getting pushed back.

Much like other video game studios, employees are working from home to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus. As a result, we’re still going to see the necessary updates and releases come out rather than being pushed back even further than originally planned. Today Bethesda has announced on their official Twitter account that the anticipated Wastelanders update for Fallout 76 is being delayed by a week.

For those who may not be familiar, the Wastelanders update is going to significantly change up Fallout 76. The MMO will receive human NPCs, new locations, factions, items, and quests. This is an attempt to get the game into the expectations that fans had for it when the title was originally announced. While most are eagerly anticipating the release, because the employees from Bethesda have transitioned to work at home, the time needed to do a final test is being delayed.

Fortunately, this is just a one week delay so instead of the update finally releasing as intended on April 7, 2020, the game update will release on April 14, 2020. For now, players can still enjoy Fallout 76 right now on the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One platforms. Likewise, you can view our Before You Buy episode upload down below, though you’ll want to make note that this is just our initial impressions of what the game was like when it first released.
