CASPER, Wyo. – The city of Casper said on Wednesday, March 25, that the solid waste facility will continue to operate under their winter schedule so far.
The facility is open from 7.30am to 4pm Monday-Saturday. Generally, the hours are extended to spring and summer on April 1st.
“Our priority through the COVID-19 precautions is to keep the landfill open and maintain our waste collection services,” said Solid Waste Manager Cindie Langston.

The city closed recycling depots last week, along with other solid waste services such as drop-off e-waste, hazardous waste and special waste for self-service.
Other services continue and include:
-Collection collection continues uninterrupted.
– The deposit is open.
-The scale house is open with remediation procedures in place and restricts one (1) person in the shell house at a time, ie. family members stay in their vehicle.
– Commercial hazardous waste, infectious waste and disposal of special waste
are available by appointment.
-The uses for recycling metal and cardboard at solid waste facilities are open.
-The compost yard is open

“Hours and fees for solid waste facilities can be found at www.casperwy.gov, and the number to call for appointments and additional information is 307-235-8246,” the city adds.
